It continues to be a priority for Brickhunter Limited (Brickhunter) to ensure that we trade ethically, source responsibly and work to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking throughout our organisation and in our supply chain.
This statement highlights the key activities we have undertaken during this financial year to combat modern slavery in our organisation and supply chain.
We source and supply bricks to both commercial organisations and consumers. We operate out of our head office in the United Kingdom and sell to businesses and consumers within the United Kingdom. We have twelve employees.
We have policies in place that underpin our commitment to ensure that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. We continuously review and update all of our policies.
Anti-slavery and Human Trafficking Policy: This reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
Anti-Bribery Policy: This policy sets out our zero-tolerance approach to bribery and corruption.
Whistleblowing Policy: This policy informs our staff how to raise concerns about how colleagues are being treated, or practices within our business or supply chains. It also provides protection to whistleblowers in order to encourage them to raise such concerns without fear of reprisals.
Equal Opportunities Policy: This policy details the manner in which we behave as an organisation and how we expect our employees and suppliers to act.
We understand that the sourcing goods, materials and services from suppliers based outside the UK and EU give rise to the highest modern slavery risks in our business.
To help identify and mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking in our organisation and supply chains, we seek to:
Carry out a due diligence process with our suppliers, which (as part of its aims) seeks to assess and mitigate the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chain.
Provide effective training to all relevant staff (see below).
Operate relevant policy documents (see above).
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we are committed to providing relevant training to our staff the processes set out in our anti-slavery policy to ensure they are aware of the steps that must be taken to recognise any signs of human trafficking and slavery and report it where appropriate.
Following a review of the effectiveness of the steps we have taken in the last year to ensure that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains we intend to take the following further steps to combat slavery and human trafficking:
We are committed to providing annual refresher training to our staff in relation to anti-slavery and compliance with our relevant policies.
We will review our Terms and Conditions to ensure appropriate anti-slavery and human trafficking provisions are included in our contracts with suppliers.
